“What potential problems could you see with Coach carter’s coaching style”.

Coach Carter’s main coaching style was autocratic.

Success was a major point with coach carters coaching style. If there was no great success there was no point for the autocratic coaching style, as the players would not bother putting up with the hard coaching sessions, the suicides, the push ups, and critical coach carter.

Another major aspect put across in the movie was respect, coach carter stated that in order to gain respect they needed to give some respect. If this did not work with the players, coach carter would have given up on his team, and would have left them with out a victory.

Autocratic: strict, make all decisions in total control. This could be used at the start on the session to get them organised and explain the rules. This is so the kids would listen and follow instructions. Democractic: make decisions with  players, more relaxed environment. This could be used when they have to get into teams. You could ask them to split them selves up into equal teams.Laisse Faire:  relaxed, do not care too much. This could be used after the game and session when you could have a muck around game with the kids.

My coaching Philosophy is: As long as you try your best thats all that matters. Loosing and winning doesn’t matter the important thing is your involvement and how hard you try. Playing fairly and following the rules is very important as well. Having a positive outlook on things is always very important as it allows you to have fun whilst playing.  Participating in sports is a great way to meet new friends and helps your communication skills which can help you in everyday life.
